REED soil pipe cutters provide a fast, controlled method for cutting and snapping cast iron soil pipe, clay pipe, and small‑diameter concrete pipe commonly encountered in plumbing and mechanical work. Using chain‑style cutting action and uniform pressure around the pipe, these manual tools deliver clean, repeatable snaps. The product family includes two proven cutter styles to match jobsite conditions: single‑stroke SC59 snap cutters built for speed and productivity in open work areas, and ratcheting SC49 models designed to perform where access is limited.

The SC59 single‑stroke soil pipe cutters are optimized for open spaces, allowing the operator to apply body weight and leverage for quick, powerful cuts when room permits. For repair, service, and low‑clearance locations, SC49 ratcheting snap cutters apply pressure incrementally, making them effective in tight quarters and confined locations. Across the line, REED soil pipe cutters are built for regular contractor use, with durable components, consistent cutting performance, and optional extension chains available to increase cutting capacity for larger pipe sizes. Multiple use 1/2” ratchet wrench ships with SC49 models. No-Hub® roller kit is standard on all models.

First introduced by REED, the captured screw makes the SC49 close-quarter soil pipe cutters both easy to use and less costly. The screw does not have to be manipulated into place which reduces screw and cutter breakage.
